Mary Frances Campbell returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 14, 2022.
She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 27, 1938 to the late Jesse and Ethel Lewis Rhodes. She received her formal education in Corpus Christi graduating from Solomon M. Coles High School.
Throughout Mary's life she was a dedicated, hardworking woman. While in California she was employed with San Diego College serving as the Dean's Assistant and Lucky's Delicatessen. In Corpus Christi, she worked in retail as a sales associate for Dillard's Department store, home health care agencies like Senior Companion and latest the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center in food service where she retired.
While in good health Baby sister was devoted to her church; participating in numerous actives to include Sunday school, bible study, Golden Leaves, and the senior choir of Saint John Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member until her homegoing.
The beautiful memories that she leaves in our hearts will live on for generations to come. Our beautiful "Baby Sister" is now at rest.
She is joined now in heaven by her parents Jessie and Ethel Rhodes, sisters: Jesse Mae Ingram, Rosa Lee McKinney, Bernice Crecy; brothers: Emmitt Dennis Rhodes, Sr., Willie Andrew (Sonny) and Walter C. Rhodes; husband Willis Campbell; children: Michael Campbell, Tisha Campbell and nephew Emmit Rhodes, Jr.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, son Jeffery (Veena) Campbell; niece, Shirley Lott Rhodes; grandchildren: Jeffery Campbell, Joshua Campbell, Destiny Campbell, Faith Campbell, Maranda Jackson, Calvin Jackson, Mieisha (Jesse) Villareal and Terrance Taylor II; 4 great grandchildren; close friend Lena Carter and a host of great nieces and nephews, family and friends whom she adored.
Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel B with a Celebration of Life to begin at 6:30 p.m. that evening.
Visitation will resume at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022 at St. John Baptist Church, 5445 Greenwood Dr. with the Funeral Service to be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. in the Church.
Burial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd.
