Eventually, Mary relocated to Corpus Christi where she spent the remainder of her life. She passed away on June 24, 2018. As a strong Christian woman Mary prayed faithfully and greatly appreciated those who prayed for her. She fought cancer with grace and courage, but was thrilled to meet her Lord and Savior. Mary cherished life, and lived each day to the fullest, always having faith that she could overcome any obstacle. Everyone who knew Mary quickly became a part of her extended family. Mary also had a passion for dogs. Mary is preceded in death by her mother Antonia Mery. She is survived by her husband, the love of her life, George B. Amador; her brothers, Roberto (Terry) Villarreal of Warren, Michigan, Richard Villarreal of McAllen, Texas, Rey (Yolanda) Villarreal of Mission, Texas, Ruben (Arminda) Villarreal of Mission, Texas and Rudy (Debbie) Mery of Mallison, Ohio. Mary also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, close friends and other loved ones that will find comfort in the memories of love and laughter they shared with Mary Mery, Aunt Mary, Marvelous Mary and Slim Shady. May she enjoy everlasting peace with our Lord as she becomes a guardian angel for those she loved.
