Mary Anne Hernandez passed away at home on Saturday, August 7, 2021.

She was born in Corpus Christi, TX, December 9, 1955.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Armando "Mandy" Bazan and Delia Olivarez Bazan; uncles Reynaldo Olivarez (Elida), Victor Olivarez Jr. (Dora), aunts Estella O. Zapata, and Olga Olivarez.

She is survived by special family members Katie Galan (Mark Garcia) and Christina Borrego (Omar and Gabriella), as well as numerous family members and friends.

Mary Anne graduated from Incarnate Word High School in 1974. She was a member of the Hi-Fairnessee Girls Club, and served as President, 1973-1974.

As a breast cancer survivor, Mary Anne was full of life and filled with love for her many friends, and especially for her family, rarely missing a school event, sporting event or other life milestone. She was fiercely loyal to everyone she loved.

Mary Anne could recite every line of the movie, Steel Magnolias, forward and backward, and had an affinity for all things pink, blush and bashful. She also had a love of the New York Yankees, the Dallas Cowboys and all things that contain the letters "QVC" and "HSN."

Mary Anne was adamant about following COVID-19 safety guidelines, and followed them to the "T." With that being said, we politely ask anyone with a compromised immune system or who has not been fully vaccinated to please celebrate her memory in your own home.

Public Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A; with a Holy Rosary and Chapel Service to begin at 6 p.m. that evening.
