Obituary

Mary Jo Palacios Castle went to her eternal home on September 30, 2022, age 78, at Doctors Regional in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Mary was born in Corvallis, Oregon, on November 15, 1943 to Agnes (Sister Mary Joseph, OSC) and Louis Palacios. Most of her life she resided in Corpus Christi. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Palace, and two unborn siblings little Robert and Susie.

She is survived by her soulmate and beloved husband, James Castle, and three children, Jonelle Qualia (Steve), Michael Castle, and Mark Castle, as well as one sister, Rita Jean (Sister Regina Palacios, SSND). She has one half-sister, Mary Lou Villarreal (Mario), four stepbrothers and four stepsisters. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Jennifer, Rose Mary (Corey), Ashton (Anthony) and Brandon as well as six great grandchildren (Deven, Zackary, Emmah, Landyn, Lena, and Levi.)

Mary attended Christ the King Catholic School and Incarnate Word Academy. She married James Castle on September 14,1960 and they recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. She worked in a variety of places until she became a Real Estate agent and then founder of Castle Appraisal Services until she retired in 2006. Mary was a devoted Catholic and member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was an active volunteer at Christus Sphon South Hospital where she often attended daily Mass and brought Communion and comfort to many sick people. Mary never met a stranger, loved to go camping, and rescued any animal that came her way. She was greatly loved and had a capacity to love beyond words. She will be forever missed.

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022Visitation will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church from 10:00 – 11:00 am. followed by the recitation of the rosary at 11:00 am and Mass of the Resurrection at 11:30 am. Internment is at Seaside Cemetery.
Guardian Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
