Mary C. (Chelo) Ramos, a devoted Catholic was born October 16, 1931 and called to her heavenly home on August 22, 2015. She was 83 years old. Known as "Chelo" to family and friends. She was the oldest child of Vidal and Amelia Ruelas. Mary was born in Pharr, Texas and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was loving to many friends and inspired others by doing generous deeds. She will be greatly missed by all those lives she touched. Mary worked for C.C.A.D. for 28 years in several areas. She was loved and admired by all her co-workers. After her retirement in 2012 she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was passionate about plants, flowers and gardening. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Yndolfo S. Ramos, Sr., daughter, Beatrice, parents, Vidal and Amelia Ruelas and brothers, Jesus Vidal and Felipe Ruelas, Sr. Mary is survived by three sons, Yndolfo Jr.(Rosie), David and Christopher B.(Roxanne) Ramos, two daughters, Mary Jane Garza, Cynthia Esparza, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral procession will depart Guardian funeral home on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. to Holy Family Catholic church, 2509 Nogales/Macarthur for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
