MARY HARVIN WEAVER BROWN
Mary Harvin Weaver Brown, 84, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2016. She was visited and comforted by family members at the time of her passing. Mary was born in Texarkana, Texas to Edwin and Mary Harvin. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1949, attended Del Mar College in 1950, and graduated from Baylor University in 1953. She retired from CCISD with 34 years teaching elementary school children at Frazer and Evans Elementary. Mary enjoyed dancing with the Circle Up Squares, traveling, playing in the bell choir at the Church of the Good Shepherd, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Mary Harvin; brother, Edwin Harvin, Jr.; sister, Laurel Harvin Solley; and friend, Mickey Weaver. Mary is survived by her husband of 40 years, James R. Brown; son, Larry Weaver (Robin) and grandchildren, Maggie and Jackson; sister-in-law, Faye Harvin; cousins,Betsy Green and Barbara Lee; nephew, John Harvin (Vicky); nieces, Leslie Harvin and Anne Solley Lynch (Bob); and the Brown family: Jim Brown (Betty), Linda Brown, Dennis Brown (Debbie), Eddie Brown (Kathy), Doug Brown (Sheila), Marilyn Wright, Richard Brown (Sherry); and their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Suter; Mary Garcia; and staff at JMJ Assisted Living Center, Nurses on Wheels Hospice, and Visiting Angels for taking care of Mary. Services will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Saturday, October 8 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to South Texas Children's Home.
