Mary Lue Barnes, 78, went home to be with The Lord on October 22, 2016 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mary was born in Wills Point, TX to James & Tersie Scoggins on July 12, 1938.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James & Tersie Scoggins, her husband, Tommie J.D. Barnes, her sisters; Lois Boyd, Christine Brandon, Betty Pittman, her brothers; James Matthew Scoggins, Keith Scoggins, & Robert Scoggins.

Mary is survived by her sons; Timothy Barnes (Ron Plishka) of Washington DC, Phillip (Destiny) Barnes of Hurst, TX, her stepsons; Daniel Barnes of Fort Worth, TX, Art (Pam) Barnes of Houston, TX, a grandson, Nathan Barnes of Hurst, TX, her sisters; Dean Williams of Harlingen, TX, Bea Brandon of Talkeetna AK, Judy (Cloyce) Falksen of Midlothian, TX, and a brother Billy (June) Scoggins of Houston, TX, several nieces, grand nieces, nephews, grand nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Sinton, TX on Saturday December 3, 2016 at 11AM. The cremains of Tommie J.D. and Mary Barnes will be interred together at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX on Monday December 5, 2016 at 2PM.
