Obituary

Mary Alice Perez went to her heavenly home on December 8, 2020 at the age of 80. She was born on August 08, 1940, to the late Juan and Maria Garcia in Alice, Texas.

She grew up in Corpus Christi, TX, where she served as an LVN for 10 years and an RN for 30 years and raised her five children. She earned her Nursing Degree from Del Mar College in 1973.  She served as a Nurse in the areas of Pediatrics, ICU, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, and General Nursing.

Mary Alice was a very devoted Christian who was born again at 15 years old. She left behind a godly legacy evidenced by the impact of her unfailing love for her family members, relatives, and church family. She faithfully demonstrated her deep love for the Lord Jesus as she served at the Church of Acts for 30 years. She served as an usher, prayer intercessor, and assisted with the food pantry for the needy.  Her greatest delight was when she helped at vacation bible school where her grandchildren and great grandchildren attended.

She was married to Juan Perez for 39 years. Juan devotedly loved and cared for Mary Alice and her family members.

She is survived by her husband, Juan Perez and 4 children, Cynthia (Gordon) Bailey, Sandra (Robert) Baker, Ron Garza and Janette Garza (Ken Westra); her 10 grandchildren, Corinne Cameron, Rebekah Bailey, Michael Garza, Christina Garza, Joel Aleman, Johnny Aleman, Janelle Garcia, Araceli Garza, Veronica Garza, Juan Garza; and her 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gilbert (Nelda) Garcia. She was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Garza in 2004, her sister Aurora Garcia Trevino in 2013, and her brother, Juan George Garcia in 2019.

Mary Alice will be greatly missed for her unconditional love for her family, giving spirit, sense of humor and godly influence.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on December 14, 2020 at the Church of Acts in Corpus Christi, Texas
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park that afternoon.
