Today we remember Martin Peter Anthony Ortiz Sr, the Son of Manuel and Teresa Ortiz who passed away on 10/12/16. He was only 51 years old and after his life long battle with diabetes he has finally gone to rest in the hands of our Lord. Peter was one of five siblings Manuel,Norma,Gabriel Ortiz, Betty de Leon and Roger and Roberta Ortiz. Peter Ortiz was known for being not only a good father to his three children, Marty ,Narissa, and Matthew Ortiz, But just an all around good person. He was full of life, love and laughter, and though his battle with his disease was a long and painful one, he was hardly ever seen without a smile on his face or one of his friends or family members at his side. He was the type of person who gave all he could, even if it meant he would go without, Even taking on two children, Layla and Makayla Sego to raise as his own. And with a soft spoken and other worldly amount of patience, he would often be seen quietly sitting and listening to the sounds and stories of the lives going on around him, never one to want to bother or be in the way. He was a man of many hats and worked as hard as he could to provide for his wife of over 30 years, Nylvia Ortiz, who now more than ever encourages us all to remember the lessons of true patience and memories of unconditional Love he leaves behind for us. Peter Ortiz was a "Family Man" to his core who will be remembered as the quiet and gentle person that only added to the caring, father, husband and friend he will always be remembered as. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15th 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at the Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi Texas. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.
