Obituary

Mark Anthony Garcia, beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026. Born on April 13, 1983, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Mark lived a life surrounded by the love of his family and leaves behind memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.

Mark was the cherished son of Rene and Dalia Garcia. He is survived by his loving mother and father, whose unwavering love, faith, and prayers guided him from the moment he entered this world through his final days. He also leaves behind his brother, Rene Garcia Jr., and his sister, Monica Garcia, who will forever carry with them the memories of growing up together. He also leaves behind his two nieces, Reagan & Kennedy Garcia.

As a brother, Mark was Rene Jr.’s sidekick. The two were often inseparable from childhood into early adulthood, sharing countless adventures and memories along the way. As an older brother to Monica, Mark was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it meant doing the heavy lifting or simply being there when he was needed. His love was often shown through the things he quietly did for those around him.

As a son, Mark was one of his family’s greatest helpers. Mark had a generous heart and gave so much of himself without expecting anything in return. Caring for the people around him was simply part of who he was.

One of Mark’s most faithful companions was his beloved eight-year-old basset hound, Bailey. She was far more than a pet to him; she was his best friend and, through many seasons of life, a source of comfort, companionship, and peace. The bond they shared was a beautiful reflection of Mark’s tender and loving heart.

Those fortunate enough to know Mark will remember his vibrant personality. He was playful, full of life, and so often the life of the party. He had a gift for making others laugh and bringing joy into a room. His presence will be deeply missed, but the laughter, stories, and memories he gave his family and friends will remain with them always.

Mark’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Visitation will be held at Guardian Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We will then travel to Most Precious Blood Catholic Church for a 1pm Rosary and 1:30pm Funeral Mass. The burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 3pm.

As we entrust Mark into the loving and merciful hands of God, we find comfort in our faith and in the promise that death is not the end, but the beginning of eternal life with our Heavenly Father. Though our hearts are heavy, we give thanks for the 43 years we were blessed to love Mark and to be loved by him.

We will hold tightly to the countless memories he leaves behind—the meals he prepared, the laughter he brought into our lives, the helping hand he so freely offered, and the many quiet ways he showed his love. His earthly presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain alive in the stories we share and the love he planted in the hearts of his family and friends.

Rest in eternal peace, Mark. May God welcome you into His loving arms, may perpetual light shine upon you, and may you rest in peace.
