Obituary

Marjorie Marie Stephens, 75 passed away January 19, 2022 at her home in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Marjorie was known to her family and friends as Mom, Granny or Margie.  She was born in El Centro, California on August 30, 1946 to Henry and Lois Lumpkin.  Margie graduated from Mary Carroll High Schooland she went on to Nursing School to become an LVN.  Margie worked at numerous hospitals until coming to Driscoll Children's Hospital where she worked on the surgical and chemo floor.  She had a passion for caring for sick children.  Margie retired from Driscoll Children's Hospital after 27 years of service.

Margie married the love of her life, David W. Stephens on May 18, 1966.  Margie and David were married 55 years before his passing on March 16, 2021.  Margie missed her husband very much as he was all she had known.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, David Stephens, her parents Henry and Lois Lumpkin, her in laws David and Shirley Stephens, her sister in law Janice Mabry and her grandson Andrew Michael Stephens.

To describe our mom, she loved her family so very much.  She loved her children with everything she had and instilled in them that Family was Everything.  She loved to cook, bake and was known for her Hoagie Sandwiches and her fruitcake.  She had a passion for cross stitching and crochet.  Margie made every person in her family a hand made cross-stitched Christmas Stocking which will continue to be cherished for many, many years to come.  She was an animal lover and had many animals throughout her life.  At the time of her passing her most prized Chihuahua, Honey was by her side as she always was.  Our Mom will be truly missed by those that loved her.

Margie leaves behind to cherish her memories:  her daughter Sheryl (Stephan) Danielsen, her son William (Angela) Stephens, five grandsons Justin (Wren) Jackson, Kyle (Brandi) Jackson, David (Abbey) Jackson, Blake Stephens, Connor Stephens, eight Great Grandchildren Thomas Baddley, Emma Baddley, Brenna Baddley, Beau Jackson, Easton Jackson, Hayden Jackson, Cash Jackson and Josie Jackson; along with many family and friends whom she adored.

A Special Thank you to our mom's caregivers Sheila Jones and Belinda George for taking such good care of our mom.
