Marilynda Alexander (née Redmon) died peacefully in her home on July 20, 2022 in Driscoll, Texas at the age of 66.
Marilynda is survived by her only child, Laura Alexander, also of Driscoll, and her sister, Mac Bezdeck, of Pasadena, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Alexander of Driscoll, Texas; her parents, Don Redmon of Manvel, Texas and Ann S. McClellan of Pasadena, Texas; and her brother, Marvin Redmon, of Pasadena, Texas.
Marilynda was born on October 13th, 1955 in Asheville, North Carolina to Don Redmon and Ann S. McClellan. She married William Alexander, a truck driver, in 1978 and moved to Driscoll. In 1982, they welcomed their daughter, Laura, who remembers her mother as a wonderful and loving mother who encouraged her to pursue her dreams.
Most will remember Marilynda as an accomplished cook who often baked gifts, especially her fudge and cinnamon rolls, for her friends and loved ones. She was a dedicated animal lover who rescued numerous animals and was passionate about the plight of homeless pets.
A celebration of life and spreading of her ashes is tentatively planned for the fall, Marilynda's favorite season. If you'd like to be kept up to date on information for a celebration of life service, please send an email to
