Mariano Delosreyes Cruz, 69, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019.  He was born August 13, 1949 in Corpus Christi TX to Mr. & Mrs. Austreberto Flores Cruz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Cruz.  As a young man, Mariano served in the United States Army and received the following decorations:

• National Defense Service Medal
• Parachutist Badge
• Vietnam Service Badge
• Combat Infantryman's Badge

He is survived by his wife Carmen Barrientos Cruz, son Mariano Cruz, daughter Monica (Adam) Gonzales, brothers & sisters, Ramiro (Claudia) Cruz, Rosalie & Richard Martinez, Laura & Jesse Carrizal, Luis & Lanelle Cruz, Hortencia & Alfredo Rivera and Yolanda Cruz. He had a total of 22 grandkids and 8 great grandkids and 3 great great grandkids. He also had five step-children, Janie & Eddie Vasquez, Brenda Araiza, Carmen & Mike Garcia, Sam Suarez, and Billy & Rosemary Prado.

Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with an Evening Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Guardian funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m. and Burial to follow with military honors in Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 Access Rd.(Exit #9) heading 37 north. 248-4830. Services will be officiated by Mr. Mike Garcia.
