IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maria Del
Rosario 'Chayo' Perez Galvan
September 10, 1961 – February 1, 2017
Maria del Rosario "Chayo" Perez Galvan, aged 55, died peacefully on February 1, 2017. Chayo was born on September 10, 1961 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of Moises Perez Jr. and Mary Blanco Perez. On April 19, 1997, Chayo married Noe R. Galvan. This year would have marked their 20 th Anniversary.Chayo loved having people around - family, friends, neighbors; friends of family, friends of friends, friends of neighbors – no one was a stranger. Her family was the most important thing to her. She was the glue that kept the family intact when our parents passed. She didn't let a holiday, birthday, or celebration go by without gathering everyone to play cards, games, or sports. In addition to raising Jessika and Ariana, she also enjoyed taking care of her nieces and nephews and many of the neighborhood kids. She was THE favorite aunt. She loved to volunteer - she coached, worked with Head Start, assisted the Ballet Folklorico, and, most dearly, was the proudest Aggie Mom. Chayo is survived by Noe, Jessika Noelle Perez and Ariana Isabel Galvan; her sisters Liz (Eddie), Frances, and Penny (John David); her brothers Moises III, Orlando (Yvonne), Reggie (Debra), and JJ (Monica); a ton of nieces and nephews; and hundreds of relatives and billions of friends. She will be joining her grandmother Ama, her father and mother- Moises and Mary, her twin daughter Erika, grandbaby Karina, and niece Miranda. There will be a Rosary and celebration of her life at Guardian Funeral Home at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2017 and a funeral mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Corpus Christi, TX on Saturday, February 4 at 10 am. Graveside services will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.Chayo's family would like to invite you to wear Texas Aggie maroon or Miller Buc purple and gold to her celebration.
