Maria Lusa Ramirez passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022 at the age of 70.

She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Sophia and Jesse Briseño on October 24, 1951.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many is now our guardian angel. Maria enjoyed the simple things in life like taking a walk on nice day, or spending many hours on the phone with relatives. She would often test her luck gambling, a past time which she loved. Maria always kept a tidy home ensuring the trash was taken out promptly, the floors were clean and such so that at the end of the day she could relax. Our family knew not to interrupt her while she watched her Spanish novelas on weekdays, while she enjoyed a sweet treat or TWO.. She lived a life filled with joy and love; her memory will live in our hearts for generations to come.

Maria is survived by her children: David (Christina) Ramirez, Pete (Gina) Ramirez, Joe (Ciera) Briseño, Nicole (Carlos) Brambila, Veronica (Rudy) Ramirez, Benjamin (Enrique) Briseño, Jay (Diane) Ramirez, Adam Ramirez, Randy Ramirez, Justin (Selena) Briseño; 34 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, Maria was blessed to see five generations of her family together; 8 siblings; and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved.

All funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022
Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a Chapel Service to be celebrated at 6:30 p.m.
