Maria Esmeralda "Weda" Monjaraz, 59, of Robstown, passed away Saturday, February 16th, 2019, at her residence. She was born July 13, 1959, in Blue Earth, Minnesota to Eleuterio and Agripina Rodriguez.
Weda will forever be remembered for her vivacious personality and contagious laugh. Maria was a devoted wife of 38 years to the love of her life. Together they raised their 4 boys and provided countless memories that will be cherished forever. Maria treasured her 8 grandchildren and cherished every moment with them, including spoiling them endlessly. She loved to host family gatherings and spent hours on the phone catching up and joking with family near and far. Weda had a passion for growing her garden, bargain hunting with family, and shared her love for fishing with her husband and sons. Weda was as amazing woman that was very loved, and will be missed by many.
Maria is preceded in death by her sister Maria Agripina Perez; two brothers Hijinio Rodriguez and Eleuterio Rodriguez; and both parents.
Survived by her husband, Salome Monjaraz; sons: Adrian (Jennifer), Jeremy (Amanda), Evan (Stephanie), and Sean. Maria's memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Henry, Adrian, Damian, Evan, Anna, Aubri, Gia and Gavino; siblings: Angelita Cortinas, Ramon Rodriguez, Maria Barrera, Susie Baeza and Eleazar Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday March 7, 2019 at Guardian Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Friday March 8, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 2509 Nogales St. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
