Maria Angelina Vasquez, age 83, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, love, and a legacy that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Maria was a devoted wife who shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Augustine Medina. Together, they built a life filled with love, companionship, and shared passions. One of her greatest joys was working alongside her husband on woodworking projects, creating not only beautiful pieces but also lasting memories together.

Maria had a creative spirit and a love for the arts. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, and keeping her home clean and organized. She especially loved the color brown and had a fondness for yellow flowers, which reflected the simple beauty she appreciated in life.

Music held a special place in Maria’s heart, especially the music of Marco Antonio Solís. She treasured every opportunity to attend his concerts and went to see him perform in Corpus Christi and San Antonio. These experiences brought her happiness and created wonderful memories she held dear.

Maria was also a proud Dallas Cowboys fan who enjoyed cheering on her favorite team. When it came to food, one of her favorite dishes was taquitos de carne guisada, a meal she loved and enjoyed.

Maria will be remembered for her dedication, creativity, love of music, and the many ways she expressed her love through the things she did every day. Her presence brought meaning to the lives of those around her, and her memory will continue to live on through the stories, traditions, and moments shared with family and loved ones.

Maria is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Asendo and Candelaria Vasquez, and her brother, Juan Vasquez.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Augustine Medina, and her sisters-in-law, Maria Elena Gonzalez, America Gonzalez, and Jesusa, along with other family members and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

Funeral Service Information

Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Guardian Funeral Home located at 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, Texas 78417. Visitation at 4:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

Continued visitation will be at Guardian Funeral Home on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery located at 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.

Maria Angelina Vasquez will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Though her family must now say goodbye, the love she shared, the memories she created, and the beauty she brought into the world will remain forever.

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life.
