Maria Antonia Mallett, 92 years of life, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 warm in her bed surrounded by loved ones.

Mary was born April 6, 1929 in Rio Hondo, Texas to the late Francisco and Carmen Perales. She was preceded in death by her late parents and brothers; Francisco JR, Fernando and Manuel Perales and the father of her children, Pedro Alvarez.

In Maria's early years, she worked as a Cosmetologist where she began to meet many faces. Every person Maria met ended up becoming a lifelong friend. She had a warm smile and was full of so much wisdom that people gravitated towards her. Her personality gained the hearts of so many. Maria enjoyed playing bingo, visiting Las Vegas where she was considered VIP and everyone called her by her full name. Maria was also a giver and a healer; her strong spirit helped so many people get through very tough times in their lives. Maria definitely touched many souls here on Earth. Until her last days, she enjoyed looking her best, always reaching for her lipstick and making sure her hair was combed and styled. She enjoyed the finer things you could say and last but not least she was a huge Dallas Cowboys Fan, she enjoyed cheering on the team every weekend!

Maria is survived by her sister Carmen (Carmalita) Atkinson, her children Juan (son) & Maria Alvarez, Robert (son) and Yvette Alvarez, Eduardo and Sylvia (daughter) Castro, and Pedro Jr. (son). Her grandchildren: Austi, Richard, Aaron, Robert, Alisa, Robby, Ryan, Julia, Lauren and Eddie. She had 6 Great Granddaughters.

Maria was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all and never forgotten.

Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Guardian funeral home chapel ''A".
