Maria Andrea Lara, born on November 10, 1946, in Corpus Christi Texas moved to her Heavenly home on August 23, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother whose presence will be greatly missed by all who love her.
Maria is proceeded in death by her parents Castulo and Celestina Amador, her beloved son's Johnny A. Garcia and Javier Reyes, her sisters Oliva Hernandez- Rivera, Rosalinda Lopez, and her brother Francisco Amador.
She is survived by her loving husband Felipe Valdez Lara of 52 years. Her loving children: Daughter Sandra Reyes, Son Gerardo Reyes (Elizabeth), Daughter Cynthia Torres, Son Esteban Roblez (Amber). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Christopher Ramirez (Maria), Joe Reyes (Stephanie), Matthew Villarreal (Malarie), Jeremy Villarreal, Ashley Garcia (Alexis), Sandra Selene Garcia, Crissy Garcia (Nate), Adrian Garcia, Roy Salinas, Brandon Salinas, Miranda Salinas, Itati Reyes, Juan Reyes, Gerardo Reyes, Jr., Logan Reyes, Javier Phillip Reyes, Lisette Reyes, Ivana Reyes. As well 19 treasured great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters and multiple nieces and nephews.
Maria was a devoted Christian woman of deep faith and compassion. She was kind spirited, very loving, and caring. She spent hours praying for those she loved, knew, and even for those she did not know. Her unwavering belief and passion in the power of prayer and her love for the Lord brought her much joy and comfort and hope to many. Maria loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God's Word. Though she was a humble, gentle woman, Maria was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends, and the world at large. She leaves a legacy for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives. We'll always remember that special smile, that caring heart, warming, embrace, she always gave us.
Public visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024 from 4:00 til 8:00 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel . Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Guardian funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 North Access Rd.
