Maria De La Luz Oliver, 80, passed away August 3, 2014. She was born December 1, 1933 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Rafael F. and Belem Oliver, Sr. She retired as an LVN after 40 years of nursing which included Memorial Hospital and Dr. Roberto Bosquez office. She was a lifelong member and servant of Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by Rafael F. and Belem Oliver Sr., Rafael F. Oliver Jr and close friend, Mauricio Benavides.
She is survived by a brother, Pete (Anita) Oliver; sister, Aurora Oliver; sister in law, Esther Oliver; nieces, Lisa Oliver; Linda (Kirby) Harrison, Anne Marie (Corey) King, Catherine (Tony) Aguero; and nephew, Rafael F. Oliver IV, Great nieces and nephews: Ashley Harrison, Megan Harrison, Rafael F. Oliver IV, Catarina Aguero, Nicolas Mills, Deanna Aguero, Ethan Aguero, Cayden King. Great-great niece, Jazzilyn Wharton.
Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 1610 Comanche on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am at Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 7, 2014 with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
