IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maria Teresa
Juarez Cabrera
June 30, 1940 – February 11, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mom, Maria Teresa Juarez Cabrera.
Teresa was born on June 30, 1940, to Pedro Juarez and Sabina Ortega. Teresa entered eternal life on February 11, 2025, with family by her side.
We take comfort knowing that she was greeted in heaven by angels and various family members, especially her brother Francisco "Pancho" Juarez, her daughter, Marina "Mari" Elizondo and her grandson, Richard Elizondo Jr., who preceded her in death.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 64 yrs, Domingo R. Cabrera (US Air Force). Her sons Domingo G. (Dora) Cabrera (US Army) and Jesus (Arjelia) Cabrera (US Coast Guard), her daughter Maria Teresa "Terry" Cabrera and her son-in-law Richard (Mari †) Elizondo. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sandra (Rocky) Flores, Erica (Joseph B.) Cabrera, Jennifer (Ruben) Muniz, Vincent Elizondo, Martin (Jessica) Cabrera and Jesus (Sabrina) Cabrera Jr.; great-grandchildren: Natalie, Roxanne and Rocky Jr. Flores, Jayda Cabrera-Hinojosa (father – John H.), Jaedyn Botello, Javier (Isabel C.) Alvarez, Ruben (Anastazia G.) Muniz Jr., Victoria and Isabella Muniz, Vincent Elizondo Jr., Marina Elizondo, Xena Cantu, Orion and Saros Cabrera and great-great grandson Ruben Muniz III.
Known as Mom, Suegra, Wela and Tere, she was full of love, laughter and resilience. She touched the lives of all who knew her. Among her favorite things were gardening, always tending to her plants, Tejano & Spanish music and dancing, visiting her neighbors/friends and catching up on the chisme, hustling at her yard sales, shopping, watching her Novelas and she adored her kitty cat Mickey. Most of all, she loved her family. Even though she lived in San Juan, TX, she did her best to travel to Corpus to be a part of everyone's special moments, whether it was a birthday party, graduation, wedding, baby shower or just because. She would spoil her grandkids every chance she got, and when you visited her home there was always food and coffee ready.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Guardian Funeral Home & Cremation (5922 Crosstown Access Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78417).
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Rose Hill Memorial Park (2731 Comanche St., Corpus Christi, Tx) in Our Lady of Guadalupe Garden. Teresa will be laid to rest, along with her brother, Francisco and near her dearly missed daughter, Mari.
The Cabrera Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (3030 Fig St.) for their dedication and professionalism in their individual discipline, along with their loving care and compassion towards mom while in residence. Extra thank you to her daughter-in-law Dora, who coordinated her care throughout the last 2 years. Her tireless and enduring efforts were instrumental in our mom's comfort. No words can express our gratitude and appreciation.
