Maria Diana Jasso passed away peacefully on October 17, 2021. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Diana was born on November 3, 1950 to Eusebio and Delfina Jasso. She is a part of the 1969 graduating class of Roy Miller High School. Her passion for cooking and hard work ethic was shown through her career as a cook. After retiring with 28 years of service with the Spohn Health System, she continued her career as a cook with the Corpus Christi Medical Center Dr. Regional. Diana enjoyed working in her garden, drinking coffee and visiting with family. She was known for her red lipstick and love of all things sequins. Her greatest achievement was the bond she created within her children and teaching them to love others without judgment. She loved watching over her grandchildren and attending their baseball, softball and football games. She leaves behind memories of gathering with family for BBQ and watching the Dallas Cowboys together. She is the definition of strength and displayed the power of a mothers love in all of her children till the very end.
Diana's legacy lives on through her family and she is survived by the father of her children Jose Leija; her son Bryan Leija; daughters Terry Leija, Crystal (David) Figueroa, Ashley (Christopher) Trevino; grandchildren Joe Jacob, Savannah Lee, Bryanna Nicole, Ryan Jay, John Richard III, Nayeli Nori, Gabriel Xavier, Arabella Grace, Adalynn Rose, David T. III; sisters Alicia Jasso, Eva (David) Gonzalez; and brothers Eusebio (+Linda) Jasso, Arnold (Alicia) Jasso, Luis (Linda) Jasso Sr., Steve (Betty) Jasso and Robert (Celeste) Jasso.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eusebio and Delfina Jasso, and sisters Graciela Ann Gonzalez and Lydia Irene Peña.
Services will be held on Monday October 25, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, Texas 78417. A private viewing for the family will begin at 3:00 PM and a public viewing will begin at 5:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
Pallbearers include David T. Figueroa Jr., Christopher Trevino, Ryan Jimenez, Armando Vasquez, Luis Jasso Jr., and Alex Jasso. Honorary Pallbearers include Jose Leija, Bryan Leija, John Ortiz III, Gabriel Trevino, and David Figueroa III.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Creamean, the doctors at Christus Spohn Cancer Center, the nurses at PAMS Rehabilitation Hospital and Harbor Hospice, as well as all of her friends and family that joined in prayer along the journey.
