Maria Lamar Hutchinson, 87 , passed away on June 11, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was born in Laredo, Texas on December 03, 1932 to her loving parents Ernesto and Maximiana Gutierrez.

She joins now in heaven both of her parents; daughter: Cheryl Hutchinson; grandson: Christopher Hutchinson; brother: Ernesto Gutierrez, Jr.

Lamar always knew the value of hard work and sacrifice, as she raised three beautiful children, as a single mother. In return she taught them to be strong, loyal, independent and caring. She enjoyed the simple things in life; most days you could find her buried deep in a book as she was an avid reader. Although she could appreciate the art of many genres of music, she truly had a love for Neil Diamond's classic work; and she was sure to let you know it. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her, but we are at peace in knowing that Lamar lived a full and happy life. Her memory will live in our hearts forever.

Lamar is survived by her sons: Harry E. Hutchinson (Esmeralda) of Corpus Christi, Texas ; Robert Hutchinson (Carmen) of San Antonio, Texas ; grandchildren: Erica Edwards (Jim) of Sequim, Washington ; Lesley Coco (Vinnie) of Pflugerville, Texas ; Christian Hutchinson of San Antonio, Texas ; great-grandchildren: Madison and Emma Edwards both of Sequim, Washington ; sisters: Julia Bookout of Kentucky ; Maria Elizondo (Camilo) of S omerset, Texas ; sister-in-law: Ida Gutierrez of Mt. Vernon, Texas ; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored.

Public visitation will be held from 10 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel A, 5922 Crosstown (S.H. 286) Corpus Christi, Texas 78417 ; the funeral procession will formally depart at 12:30 p.m. from Guardian Funeral Home as she is taken to her final place of rest.
A graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Seaside Memorial Park 4357 Ocean Dr. Corpus Christi, Texas 78412 located in the Resurrection section of the cemetery at the corner of Robert Dr. and Santa Fe St.
