Santos Hernandez passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on January 2, 1933, in Cadereyta, Nuevo León, Santos lived a beautiful life completely dedicated to God and her family. Above all else, she lived for her children, pouring her heart, soul, and endless love into raising them and creating a home where they always felt cherished.

A woman of profound and unwavering Catholic faith, Santos was a devout servant of God who found daily strength in her prayers. Alongside her deep devotion, she possessed a huge sense of humor and a quick wit that brought immense joy, laughter, and light to her household.

Santos was happiest when she was outdoors tending to her beloved flower garden. A master in the kitchen, she expressed her love through food, famously hosting weekly dinners at her house and making fresh tortillas every single day.

Her strength and dedication were unmatched; she continued the cherished family tradition of making homemade tamales well into her 90s to keep her family close.

She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Rumaldo Hernandez Sr., and her son, Julio Hernandez.

Her rich legacy lives on through the children she lived for: her son Rumaldo Hernandez and his wife Leticia; her daughter Rachel Castanon; her daughter Margie Garcia; her son Richard Hernandez; and her son Ramiro Hernandez and his wife Linda Hernandez. Santos was the proud matriarch to a large, loving family, including 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
