Maria H. Garcia, 62, went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Maria was born October 7, 1952 to Jesus and Esther Gonzalez. Serving God and attending church was always a priority in her life. She also loved to travel and had an opportunity to visit the Holy Land in Israel. She devoted her life to the caring and nurturing of children. She had a Bachelor's Degree from Corpus Christi State University. She worked as a social worker for CPS and a teacher for CCISD.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus C. Garcia, father, Jesus D. Gonzalez and sister, Susan S. Gonzalez. Maria is survived by her son, Jesus C. Garcia, Jr., grandchildren, Jesse, Lolita, Sarina and Seanna, mother, Esther Gonzalez, great grandson, Christopher, brother, Jesus Gonzalez, Jr. (Delia), sisters, Beatrice Garcia(Johnny), Lillian Gonzalez, Monica Gonzalez and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Guardian funeral home chapel A with a Holy Rosary and celebration of her life at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will
