Maria "Molly" Gutierrez, 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend was called to her heavenly home on August 11, 2022. She was born in Nursery, Texas on August 2, 1933, to Guillermo and Marta Galvan. Molly married Fabian Gutierrez in 1948 and they moved to Corpus Christi where he built their home and they spent 47 wonderful years together until his death in 1995. Together they raised six children: Fred, Carol, David, Mando, Arturo, and Rebecca.

She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit, Post 0364. She was a retired employee from the Corpus Christi Independent School District. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard with her friends and spending the holidays with her family.

Her wonderful life was filled with many blessings; her memory will live on in our hearts for generations to come.

Molly is survived by her children: Carol Mendoza and Mando Gutierrez both of Corpus Christi and Rebecca Gonzalez of San Antonio. Also, three brothers: Kiko, Kite, and Beto Galvan. Molly has 18 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a daughter-in-law Jovita,  sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews which she loved dearly.

The family would like to thank everyone who prayed for Molly during this difficult time.

Public gathering will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown.

Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. and the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 540 Hiawatha St.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
