Maria Escochea Curiel passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 53. Maria was born on December 15, 1970, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Salvador Escochea and Guadalupe Hernandez.

Maria was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend and partner.

She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, barbequing, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Maria loved spending time with all her family, including her nieces and the rest of her family from Alice, Tx.

She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, crazy sense of humor, and being a jokester as she always loved joking around and making people laugh.

Maria is preceded in death by her biological mother Guadalupe H. Guzman; her adoptive mother Maria Pineda; sisters Gloria E. Cortez and Alicia Wagner, brothers Salvador Escochea Jr., Mario F. Hernandez and Hilario Garcia.

Left to cherish her memories are her father Rafael Pineda, sisters Evangelina (Luis) Vela, Terry Escochea Holguin, Lupe Quiroz, Mercedes Guzman, Rose (Richard) Garcia, Maria Elena (Eliseo) Sanchez, Herminia Lara, brothers Paul Escochea, Mike (Rose) Escochea, Jimmy Escochea, Salvador Escochea, Robert Escochea, Agustine Martinez, Frank Villegas, Juan (Irma) Rios, special nieces Stephanie (Jessie) Jackson, great-niece Alexis Zuniga, great great-niece Alexandria Roldan, and great nephew Alex Zuniga; her loving partner Diana J. Bustamante;  numerous nieces and nephews.

No services will be held per her family wishes.
