Maria Rebecca (Becky) Rios, age 87, was called to join our Lord in Heaven on April 23, 2016. Becky was born in Laredo, Texas February 9, 1929 to Genaro Castillo and Maria Castillo.
Becky in her earlier years worked at Kresses, Litchensteins and Woolworth Downtown Corpus. After the birth of her twin boys she was a stay-at-home mom until they reached school age at which time she began her career with CCISD. Becky was a dedicated employee and retired from the School District. Later Becky spent her free time with her husband watching her grandchildren play sports. Although Becky was a grandmother and great-grandmother they called her "Mom". Through the years Becky enjoyed her trips she took with her husband to Coushatta and after his passing she continued to travel to Coushatta with family and friends. Becky loved to play the penny slots.
Becky is preceded in passing by husband Johnny Rios, Grandson Marty Cantu and Son-in-Law Robert M. Cantu.
She is survived by her sisters: Tommie Miller and Rachel Lopez; five children: Sylvia R. Cantu, Bobby Rios, Aaron Rios, Diana Segovia and Rosie Trevino: twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown SH 286, Corpus Christi, Texas 78417 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5830 Williams Drive. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
