Maria "Quita" Beatriz Maldonado- Longoria was called to her resting place to be with The Lord at the age of 77, on March 30,2016. Quita, as she was lovingly called, was born in Mission, Texas to Jose V .Maldonado and Aminta D. Maldonado on February 7,1939. She attended Mission High School where she was active in the band. In 1957 she moved to Corpus Christi with her older sister, Maria del Socorro.
Quita worked in Corpus Christi for Dr. Rodolfo Barrera at Lee Optical for a couple of years. Later, she worked in several department stores in Corpus. She also volunteered in the cafeteria where her children attended school. Later on in life, she became active in all of her grand-daughter, Audrey's, school functions; whom she had a very special bond with.
Quita had a passion for oldies music, mainly Doo-Wop!, throughout her life. She had a heart of gold, always putting others before herself without hesitation. Furthermore, Quita always welcomed family and friends into her home with generous hospitality; during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter Sundays, or just because. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grand-Mother, Daughter, Sister, and Aunt. Quita will be deeply missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Maria Arabela Maldonado and Maria del Socorro Longoria, her father Jose Vasquez Maldonado, her brother Jose Domingo Maldonado and her mother Aminta Diaz Maldonado.
