In Loving Memory of Maria Antonia Martinez
Maria Antonia "Toni" Martinez
May 20, 1941 - January 1, 2026
Maria Antonietta "Toni" Martinez, a devoted Catholic, beloved Mother, and Compassionate Caregiver, passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born on May 26, 1941, in Laredo, TX, to Guadalupe Torres and Guadalupe Santos Garza, Toni moved to Corpus Christi at a young age. She proudly graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1960, and she remained a true Miller Buccaneer throughout her life. Her school spirit was unmatched. She loved singing the Alma mater with her sister's, Alma and Birdie. Those moments of laughter, music, and sisterhood were among her most treasured memories. Toni had a natural gift for bringing joy wherever she went. With her bright voice and lively personality, she often found herself at the center of attention, effortlessly becoming the life of every gathering.
Determined to follow her calling in Health Care, Toni continued her education at the Del Mar College, where she earned her degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Nursing was not just her profession- it was her purpose. She cared deeply for every patients she encountered, offering comfort, kindness, and dignity. Her gentle hands and warm heart touched countless lives, and her dedication to serving others became one of the defining qualities of her life.
Toni is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe Torres and Guadalupe Santos Garza, and her beloved great grandson, Hunter Williamson.
Above all, Tony was a devoted mother who loved her children fearlessly. Her life was defined by love, sacrifice, and an unwavering dedication to her family. She worked tirelessly to provide for them, and her strength and devotion never went unnoticed. She is survived by her children: Roby Robles (Linda), Phyllis Rodriguez (Stephen), Eddy Martinez (Janet), and Tony Martinez (Nora); her grandchildren-Loreena Robles, Alex Ochoa (Amanda), Toni Bunch (Troy), Edye Lagunes (Bogart), Viktoria Martinez, Lecy Hickey (Travis), and Jonathan Martinez; and eight great-grandchildren who will forever carry her love in their hearts. she is also survived by her sisters-Ramona Niño, Alma Cantu (Eliseo), and Bertha "Birdie" Peña (Edward) - who shared with her a lifetime of memories, laughter, and unbreakable sisterly bonds.
Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, embraced by her faith and reunited with loved ones who went before her. Though she will be deeply missed, the light she shared continues to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
