Mary Helen Alvizo passed away on Wednesday evening, July 26,2017. She was a retired elementary teacher with CCISD. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of CC, where she was active in the choir, bell choir, and Bible Study group.

Helen is survived by her older brother, Primitivo (Al) Alvizo and his wife Kathy, and brother Joe Alvizo. She also leaves behind one nephew, Adrian Alvizo and his wife Amanda. Surviving nieces are Elizabeth Moncivaiz and her husband Javier, and Joanna Duncan and her husband John. Helen also has eight great nieces and nephews, Ian, Sophia, Cooper, Jerris, Jovi, Jayla, Jena, and Zavier.
