Obituary
Maria Barrera Alejandre, 80, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 4, 2016. Born January 21, 1936 in Alice, Texas to Juan and Victoria Barrera. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Frances Barrera, Sue Martinez, and Lupe Barrera.
She is survived by her husband Tomas A. Alejandre; her children, Anita Zuniga (wife to Reynaldo), Steve Alejandre, Vickie Paiz, and Tommy Alejandre; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers Joe Barrera (husband to Gloria), Martin Barrera (Husband to Dolores), Tony Barrera (husband to Dina), Robert Barrera, John Barrera, and Pete Barrera (husband to Lizzie); her sisters, Connie Villegas, Janie Sanchez (wife to Mingo), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Public visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel "A", with a Holy rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 9th, 2016 at the Corpus Christi cathedral. Interment will follow at Taft Memorial Park.
