Obituary
Margie Elaine Normand, 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in
Corpus Christi TX in the presence of her family, following a recent decline in health due to numerous age related problems.
Elaine, who was affectionately known as Laine by her grandchildren and greats, was a homemaker and cook extraordinaire.
She was born August 23, 1927 in Greenmoore, LA to Habbie James and
Stella Koone O'Brian. She had 3 brothers, Hobert, and Wallace O'Brian as well as Rev. Alton O'Brien, who all preceeded her in death.
Elaine married John Normand Oct 3, 1947 and in their later years they lived in Vinton, LA where he had a small water well business.
Their marriage lasted 64 years and Elaine never truly stopped grieving his death.
She is survived by her daughters Jane Garrett (Chris) of Corpus Christi, TX and Joan Buckner (Jack) of Moss Bluff, LA. She had 5 grandchildren: Paul Thompson ( Jennifer) of Grand Prairie TX, Ken Thompson. (Cheri) of Austin, TX, Robin Buckner Moreland (Brad), Tommy Buckner (Ashley) and Chrissie Buckner Trahan (Chet) all of Moss Bluff. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren: Haleigh and Reese Thompson of Grand Prairie TX, Kaden,Kensley & Kohen Thompson of Austin, TX as well as Breelie, Brock and
Hallie Buckner of Moss Bluff, LA. At her request, her body was cremated. She will be buried beside her husband in Lake Charles at Highland Memory Gardens at a later date.
