Manuel G. Rodriguez Jr. went to be with our Heavenly Father on September 11 ^th , 2018.  He was born on December 27 ^th . 1957 in Corpus Christi, Texas and was a graduate of West Oso High School, class of 1976.

Manuel and his wife were high school sweethearts, married on November 12 ^th , 1977.  Manuel was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He enjoyed being in the company of family and friends and loved to travel the outdoors.

Manuel is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia A. Rodriguez, daughter, Amy F. Rodriguez, sister, Diana Rodriguez and parents Mr. & Mrs. Manuel Rodriguez Sr. He is survived by his daughters Lori Ann Rodriguez, and Cathy Ann Balderrama, son in law Ricardo Balderrama, granddaughter Lauren Renee Martinez, grandsons, Andrew Christopher Sanchez and Noah Conner Balderrama, four sisters San Juanita (Robert) Ybarra, Mary Helen (Gilbert) Sifuentes, Angelica Rodriguez, Eliza (Carlos) Treviño, and brother Daniel Rodriguez.  Manuel will be carried to rest by Cesar Escalante, Daniel Rodriguez, Federico Fernandez Jr., Juan Guerrero Jr., Lencho Palacios, Rey Reyes, Ricardo Balderrama Jr., and Rogelio Fernandez.

Manuel was a long time talented musician (drummer) & DJ (DJ Suave) who played for several Tejano and Conjunto bands from the time he was 12 years old.  The list includes Los Companeros, La Llamarada, Los Bandidos, Lantana Band, Grupo Tiempo, GTO, Texas Fever, Los Tronos, Kanela Band, Bandera, Los Chukos, Dreamglows, Los Estrellantes, Martillo, Cielo Band, and Grupo Suave.

The family would like to thank Guiding Light Hospice nurses Christopher Mares and Grace Garcia for their care, compassion, and friendship.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, September 14, at Guardian Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to begin at 7 p.m. that evening.
The Funeral Service begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3001 Horne Road, Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park 2731 Comanche St.
