Lydia Gomez Rios was born on June 22nd, 1958 in Phoenix, Arizona. Throughout all of life's difficulties, she persevered through everything like the true angel of our hearts. Her love radiated as bright as her captivating smile and laughter.
Being the voice of reason, this beauty was our Queen and there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for the one's she loved. From baking sweets to crafting numerous pieces of artwork, Lydia leaves a lasting impression on everyone's heart who have had the privilege of encountering her.
Even though life threw her some curve balls, she kept her family worry free and well taken care of. She was selfless and would give anything to ensure the people she loved were always happy.
Lydia is preceded in death by her mother, Enriqueta F. Barrera, father Isidro R. Gomez, sister Yolanda Gomez Georgen, brother Raul "Burro" Gonzalez and sister Rosenda "Rosie" Gomez Drake. She is survived by her sisters, Amelia Perez, Mary Medina (Frankie Medina), Guadalupe Cervantez and brothers Pete Gonzalez (Tita Gonzalez) and Jesse Gonzalez along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
To cherish her memory, she leaves behind a husband of 35+ years, Robert J. Rios Sr. and 4 children, Leonard "Leo" L. McCubbin, Lance I. McCubbin (Stefany Alba), Robert Rios Jr. (Melanie Rios) and Jessica B. Rios (Phillip M. Gomez).
God sought for a strong angel to soar through Heaven's Gate. We were all thankful for the time God blessed us with her presence. Lydia gained her wings on December 18th, 2022. We will love you always and forever.

Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. On Friday, December 23, 2022 Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Guardian funeral home chapel. All services will conclude at 1:00 p.m.
