Obituary

Lydia Ann Gonzalez Villarreal passed away on December 25, 2021, at the age of 49 after a long battle with a heart condition (myocarditis).  She was born on June 21,1972 in Corpus Christi, Texas and resided in Rockdale, Texas.

Lydia (or Lilly as some knew her) was a courageous woman, who was on a mission to prove that she could beat the odds that she was given by doctors due to her illness and live longer.  She prayed every day for a cure and always said she was fighting the good fight for God, her son and her family.  Her strong relationship with God was the driving force that kept her going and 6 months turned into 6+ years.  Lydia was a hard worker, and nothing could stop her from living. She lived and breathed for her son Gabriel who was the heartbeat of her life. She loved animals, enjoyed watching the sunset and sunrise in the country and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.  Her wittiness and humor and beautiful soul will be missed as well as her loving kindness and giving ways to others.  She loved and sang the song "Here I am Lord" and now she is there with him.  Our sunsets and sunrises will now be even brighter with our angel in heaven shining down on us.

Lydia is survived by her son Gabriel Villarreal (Alundra Rios), her mother Arcelia D. "Chela" Guzman (Jesse) her father, Edmundo A. Gonzalez (Rosie), her sister(s) Missy Garcia (Lewis), Lori Morse (Joe) and her brother Anthony J. Guzman (Kitzia), step-sisters Sandra Martinez (Don), and Rose Mo Mayorga (Emilio),  and her nieces and nephews, Luis Garcia, Milo Morse, Mariana Morse, Leilani Guzman and Anthony Guzman, Jr., Cristian Martinez, Gian Martinez,, Sebastian Vela,
