IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Luz E.
Ruiz Rivera
July 19, 1944 – January 18, 2020
Luz E. Ruiz Rivera passed away peacefully in her Corpus Christi residence surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the age of 75.
She was born in Robstown, Texas to the late Pedro and Ernestina Rivera on July 19, 1944.
Luz is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Minerva Rodriguez, Olivia Garcia, Yolanda Villarreal; brothers: Pedro Ruiz, Augustine Ruiz, Higinio Ruiz, Octavio Hernandez.
In her younger days, her happiness was found spending time with friends and family; Sunday's were never complete without the Dallas Cowboys on the tv and lots of die hard shouting. She was an avid fan of her Cowboys! She always enjoyed cooking some special dishes for her daughter, like the chicken and gravy only she knew how to make; as Roseanna would describe it, "the best in the world!" The family always longed for her delicious potato salad or her famous homemade red tacos. She had to really like you to make them for you and only on a very special occasion; maybe once a year! A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many; now our guardian angel. Although she is no longer with us, her love will continue to be our guide; until we meet. She will live in our hearts forever.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter Rosa Anna Rivera; grand daughter Samantha MacMillian; sister Odilia Olivares; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored.
Public Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 23 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, January 24 at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church,
3210 S.P.I.D
, with Burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. in Rose Hill Memorial Park
2731 Comanche St.
