Luther Kent Rice, passed away November 17, 2017. He was 86 years old. Born in Amarillo, Texas to his parents Eunice Rhodes and Coleman Rice on July 27, 1931. Kent grew up in Corpus Christi and always had a close bond with his brother Myrle Rice and sisters Coleen Lewis and Deene Felder. He was a fun, loving, man with a great sense of humor, always saw the good in others and was loved by many. He served his country faithfully as a Veteran in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his faithful and loving mother Eunice Rice, father Coleman Rice, grandchildren Alexander Rice and Taylor Rice Dumas.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his former wife and mother of their children, Mary Rocha
Children: Luther Rice, Carol Rice, Wayne Rice, Sherry Dumas, John Rice, Steve Rice, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His "adoptive" family, Jerry, Keely and Hunsaker children.
Visitation will begin at 8am Monday, November 20, at Guardian Funeral Home with a Chapel Service to start at 9:30am. Burial to follow at 11am at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery 9974 I 37 Access Rd, Corpus Christi, TX.
