Luis Saldana Jr. 79, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. He was born on December 6, 1937 in Kingsville, TX. Luis proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a Master Plumber and owner of Bay Area Plumbing Company.
He is proceeded in death by his parent Inez G. Saldana and Luis Y. Saldana. He is survived by the mother of his children Margarita "Mage" Saldana, his son Ruben (Nelda) Saldana, and daughter Veronica (James) Ysaguirre. Four grandchildren: Bobby (Veronica) Munoz, Ruben Saldana Jr., Monica Saldana, Marcos Munoz; 2 great-grandchildren, Iliana and Olivia Munoz. He is also survived by his siblings, Maria Luisa Ortegon, Guadalupe Saldana, Marisela Saldana, Joe Saldana, David Saldana, Sarah Saldana-Templin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
"Grandpa Dee", as he was known to everyone, served his country, raised a family, ran his own business and could fix literally anything. He was the most generous and fair man you could meet. There is none other like our Dad and Grandpa. He lived for his family, especially his grandkids, whom were his absolute joy. There are not enough words to describe the man he was. We will miss him every day but our hope and faith in God's word assures us that we will one day be reunited.
Visitation will begin at 3:00PM Friday, June 16, 2017 at Guardian Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00PM that evening. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Guardian Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
