Obituary

Lucia A. Guerrero, 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 9, 1937, in Harlingen, Texas, Lucia spent most of her life in Corpus Christi, where she built a legacy of love, faith, and service. She was a devoted wife to the late Abelino Guerrero Sr., and together they raised a strong and close-knit family.

Lucia was a long-time and faithful member of Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church, where she volunteered regularly for church events and served her community with compassion and humility. Her faith was central to her life, and she lived it daily through her actions, generosity, and care for others.

She is preceded in death by her husband Abelino Guerrero Sr., her beloved son Abelino Guerrero Jr., her father Francisco Anguiano, and her mother Enez Perez Rodriguez, brothers Andres Rodriguez and Antonio Anguiano; sister Janie Rodriguez.

Lucia is survived by her beloved children: Laura Valencia, Linda Guerrero, Lydia (Carolyn) Guerrero, Diana (Guadalupe) Salazar, Adriana (Ruben, Sr.) Canales, David (Eva) Guerrero and  Pedro (Ida) Valdaso. She was a proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her first great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings:Juan (Nena) Anguiano Sr., Clara Anguiano Longoria, Hermelinda Anguiano, and Connie (Richard) Amparon.

Lucia will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Her warmth touched all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she impacted.

Pallbearers will be: Pedro Valdaso Jr., Pedro Valdaso III, David Guerrero, Brandon Guerrero, Michael Amparon, and Samuel Rey Chavez.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered prayers and support during this time. Lucia's memory will forever remain a blessing to those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10. 2025 at Guardian funeral home with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:30p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic church 1101 Bloomington St. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband and son.
