It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucas Sanchez, Jr., on September 19, 2025, at the age of 87. Lucas was born on November 12, 1937 in Floresville, Texas.
Lucas worked many jobs throughout his life, including a Chauffer, Construction and Chef. He was a hard worker who provided for his family. Lucas had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in nature. He loved fishing and hunting throughout his life. Lucas suffered with Cancer for many years, facing his illness with courage. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend. Lucas brought joy, wisdom, and unwavering love to everyone in his life, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Lucas was predeceased by his parents Lucas V. Sanchez and Delfena Naranjo and two grandsons Lucas Sanchez III and Marcello Saldua.
Lucas is survived by his wife Maria Moya; nine children: Rose Ramirez, Norma Esquivel, Ida Vela, Elida Rodriguez, Angelica Sanchez and Laura Saldua (Moses); Lucas Sanchez III, Jimmy Sanchez (Monica), and Ralph Sanchez; three sisters: Minerva Martinez (Julio), Gloria Casas, Ernestina Zamora; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kindness during this difficult time.
Special thanks to Windsor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care of Lucas.
Visitation and Viewing will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a Memories sharing ceremony to begin at 11:30 a.m. at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" 5922 Crosstown Expressway in between Holly Rd. and Saratoga Blvd. Burial Service to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m.
PALLBEARERS: Adrian Vela, Eddie Vela, Jr., Javier Vela, Timothy Rodriguez, Jeremy Esquivel, Moses Saldua Jr., and Mark Saldua.
