It is with great sadness that the family of Lionel C. Garza announce he died at the age of 62 on Monday, November 1, 2021 at a local hospital.  Lionel was born in Corpus Christi to Louis C. Garza  and Mary Ellen Garza . Lionel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and uncle. He will be missed by every person who knew him. Lionel will be remembered for his acts of kindness. He retired from Texas Battery after 20 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents Louis A. Garza and Maria Ellen Garza, brother, Louis C.Garza, sisters Leticia Garza and Lydia Vasquez. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Ida S. Garza. Two loving sisters; Laura Garza Longoria of Corpus Christi Tx. Lucila (Lucy) Garza of Rialto. One son, Buddy Hernandez Garza.

One daughter, Geneva Castillo Garza; five grandchildren, Gabriel R. Palomo Jr. , Marbella F. Gonzalez, Leeah M. Gonzalez, Raul J. Morales and Damien A. Morales.

A private family visitation will be held at Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi on Thursday.
