Leon Santos Jr. peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 21, 2024, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born March 6, 1944, to Guadalupe Banda and Leon G. Santos Sr. in Corpus Christi, Texas. He retired from The Corpus Christi Housing Authority where he worked for many years.
Leon was a devoted loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was a dedicated member of his church Our Lady of Guadalupe and The Knights of Columbus for many years. Leon loved spending time watching all kinds of sports, especially the Astros, Cowboys and Spurs. He loved playing and writing music and going to dances. He was a part of many bands over the years like Cuatro Escorpiones, Los Invisible, and Conjunto Bandera. Leon also had a big, sweet tooth. Leon enjoyed his trips to the casino with his wife Amelia, brother Raymond and sister-in-law Janie. He always had to have his lotto tickets and scratch offs. Leon was a jokester always making everyone around laugh and putting a smile on everyone's face. Leon left an impact on many lives and touched so many souls with his wise words and unconditional love.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Amelia V. Santos; his parents, Leon G. Santos Sr. and Guadalupe Banda; four sisters, Cecilia Del La Cruz (Felix), Guadalupe Santos, Eleanor Santos and Natalia Santos.
Leon leaves behind his brother, Raymond Santos (Janie); sister, Josephine Naranjo (Gonzalo); daughters, Yvette Santos, Priscilla Sanchez (Mike), Yvonne Rivera Debra Saenz (Richard); grandchildren, Mariah, Jonathan, Sarah, Jeremiah and Nathaniel Rivera, Anestacio Jr. (Savannah), Aiden, Aaron and Natalie Sanchez, Andrew, Rikki and Lori Saenz; his many great grandchildren Daniel Cronin, Mando and Gabriel Martinez. Lillian, Jonathan James and Elijah Rivera, Isabella, Chance and Xavier Saenz, Michael and Amelia Garcia and Alejandro Saenz, Elizabelle Hurtado and Oliver Rocha; his grandpuppy, Princess Nala Ann.
Pallbearers: Anestacio Jr., Aiden and Aaron Sanchez, Andrew Saenz, Joe Santos, Raymond Banda Santos Jr., Eduardo Santos Naranjo and Daniel Santos Naranjo
Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel ''A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church.
All services will conclude at the Church.
