Leandro "Buddha" Lopez 61, born on April 11, 1955 in Mathis, Texas, left us to be with the lord on Wednesday January 18, 2017. After a battle with cancer. He was a longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas where he was employed by the City Water Department as a Senior Foreman where he worked for 42 years. He was a loving father, husband, brother, the greatest son and a devoted Dallas Cowboys Fan. He was a friend to all, enjoyed dancing, listening to music having fun with family and friends, and watching sports. He will greatly be missed by all who knew him especially his "baby" Bonbon. He was preceded in death by his father Pablo F. Lopez, brothers Carlos and Gilbert Lopez, nephew Leonel "Leo" Becerra Jr., and stepdaughter Claudia Hernandez. Survived by his mother Anita Lopez, wife Rosa Lopez, daughter Laura Lee Lopez, Stepson Juan Perez, sisters Irma (Alfredo) Orta, Ofelia (Roberto) Gonzalez, brothers Pablo "W" Lopez Jr., Paul (Lisa) Lopez. Seven step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren, four nieces, five nephews and aunt & uncle.  Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Guardian funeral home chapel 'A' with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic church, 710 S. 19th. St. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial park.
