Latrice Shanae' Heard entered this world on Wednesday, December 18, 1974, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was the first-born daughter to Larry Donnell Heard and Deborah Shandy-Heard. Latrice was a delight from the moment she arrived and opened her big brown eyes.  All the nurses wanted to hold her and rock her in their arms. She was truly a bundle of joy at first sight. Latrice brought fun, joy, and happiness to all who knew and loved her.

She graduated from the School of Creative and Performing Arts in San Diego, CA. Latrice secured a Cosmetology Diploma from Bellus Academy in Poway, California, and a Texas Insurance Adjusters license.  Latrice attended Grossmont College, in San Diego, CA and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. Latrice was working to complete her degree from The University of Main.  She worked as an Insurance claims processor for SWBC.  Latrice also worked for CIR and Beatrice Synder Law Firms in San Diego, CA.

Latrice loved to perform on Stage. As a child she enjoyed tap, jazz and ballet dancing but acting was her first love.  The San Diego Repertory Theatre presented her with the Black to Glory Mind Body and Soul Award for representing the rich history of Art and Heritage of the African American Culture.

Latrice Was baptized in the name of Jesus in 1991 and began singing in the Choir at Greater Apostolic Faith Temple Church under the direction of the late Pastor Charles L. Taylor. Trice sang with Inquire directed by Anthony Charles Williams (B Slade) in Ca. And With the Annointed Voices directed by Selia Simms in Corpus Christi, Texas.  She loved children and taught Sunday Schools classes at Truth Apostolic Community Church for several years, under the direction of the late District Elder A.C. Williams. Latrice led many people to Christ.

Latrice adored her sister Leslie, her family and many friends worldwide!

She was preceded in death by her father (Larry D. Heard) and her grandparents (Charles and Mattie Shandy), and (Leroy and Beatrice Heard). Latrice leaves to Cherise her memory her mother and stepfather (Deborah and Michael Varner) Her sister (Leslie E Heard) her Grandmother and grandfather (James and Beverly Juniel), and her nieces, nephews (Nandi, Nadia and Nkosi Gordon) and cousins, relatives, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A, 5922 Crosstown in Corpus Christi, Texas 78417. 361-853-0155.
