Larry B. Sparks passed away on March 12, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was a graduate of Corpus Christi High in 1948, served 4 years in the United States Air Force. Larry was employed by the Corpus Christi Caller times selling papers in front of the Nixon Hotel at the age of eight years old and left the Caller Times as city circulation manager in the mid 1980's.
Larry was preceded in death by his best friend and loving wife Lois Mari Sparks, son Richard D. Sparks, daughter Debra K. Sparks and grand daughter Katie Sparks.
Larry is survived by three children, Larry B. Sparky Sparks Jr. (Susan), Randall B. Sparks, and daughter and care giver Shari D. Hamman, and one sister Dorothy Anderlohr, and his dog chitquita still looking for him. Grandkids, David Pyle Jr.(Tyshan), Jennifer Pyle(Ray McBride), Melissa Sparks Rorbach (Robert), Dustin J. Sparks(Crystal Miears),Ricky Sparks (Kayla), Jeffery Ray (Christine),Christon Gilham (Chris) Sandra Hamman (Mark McGrath), Great Grand Kids , Payton Sparks, William Pyle, Luke McGrath, Annie Ray. Including and a large group of Pollards and their extended families our best friends forever.
Larry shared his love of his inter coastal waterway home and their Laguna cabin with his wife Lois and their five kids and family, always sharing his fishing hotspots where no one caught anything.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday March 15, 2014 . Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 15, 2014 at Guardian Funeral Home with interment to follow at Seaside cemetery.
