IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kaylee Elizabeth
Butts
October 12, 1992 – September 17, 2024
Our hearts are heavy as we share the news that Kaylee Elizabeth Butts, a beloved daughter, mother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 31 on September 17, 2024, in Corpus Christi, TX, following a tragic motor vehicle accident.
Kaylee is survived by her cherished daughters, Kamyriah and Kiera Jackson; her beloved dog, Maggie; her father, Jeffrey Butts and his wife, Jennifer; her mother, Mary Roberts; her sister, Kendra Gonzalez, and her husband, Martin Gonzalez; her nieces, Mila, Emma, and Leia Gonzalez; her grandmother, Mary Lou Benefield; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Kaylee was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 12, 1992. She attended Chireno High School and later earned an Associate Degree in Addiction Studies from Del Mar College. For the past two years, she worked as a peer support specialist at the Nueces Center for Mental and Intellectual Disabilities. Kaylee was passionate about helping others and positively impacting their lives, and she was eager to further her education and career to serve her community better. Having faced her struggles with substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges, she was uniquely equipped to offer compassion, understanding, and guidance to those on their own paths to recovery.
Kaylee's passing leaves an unfillable void in our lives, but we find comfort in the memories and love she so freely shared with those around her.
A memorial service to celebrate Kaylee's life will be held in her hometown of Chireno, TX, with details to be shared on social media. Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kaylee's memory to Eternal Awakenings in Gonzales, TX (https://eawake.org) or the National Alliance on Mental Illness
(https://www.nami.org).
