On July 21, 2021 Kay Whitley passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 70 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of over 50 years Johnny; children Wesley and Brandi (Charlie) Kutil; grandchildren Brittaney, Kayla and Michael; sister Dolly (Harry) Conner; sister-in-law Linda (Jasem) Al-Ammar; nephews and nieces Bobby, David, Talal, Layla and Bailey, and countless others who considered her like a mother, aunt, or grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents David C. Ingraham Jr. and Marylyn Gandy Ingraham.
Kay was born in Robstown and grew up in Kingsville, Texas. After graduating from H.M. King High and Texas A&I University, she went on to teach elementary students across South Texas for 37 years. She was a life-long fan of all types of auto racing from CC Speedway to NASCAR. In her later years, she enjoyed nothing more than doting on her grandchildren. She will be forever remembered for her helpful spirit and generosity, sharing her love with all those who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 27th at Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Special Olympics or CASA of the Coastal Bend.
