Katherine Tapia Garza, age 64, was called home on May 14, 2023. Kathy was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and was a 1977 graduate of Moody High School.

She is preceded in death by her father, Reynaldo C. Tapia, Sr., her mother, Evangeline Gonzalez, and her husband Liovardo P. Garza.

She was employed with the Nueces County Community Action Agency – Head Start Program for 25 years.

Kathy was the oldest sister of four brothers whom she loved until the end.

She is survived by her brothers, Reynaldo Tapia, Jr. (Debbie), Ralph Tapia (Melba), Roland Tapia (Christine) and Eliud Gonzalez, III. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Reynaldo Tapia III (Wendy), Leslie Tapia (Jose Elizondo), Ralph Tapia, Jr., Amanda Herrera, Ryan Tapia, Shelby Cisneros (Luis), Victoria Perez (Richard), Allen Tapia, EJ Gonzalez, IV, and many great nieces and nephews.

Kathy loved her nieces and nephews but especially her great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Guardian Funeral Home, 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, Texas 78417, followed by a burial service at 1 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas.
