Justin Corey Huerta passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29 on Tuesday, June 6, 2022.  He was born on June 6, 1993 to Maria G. Guzman-Rosas and Martin Huerta in Ruthweiler, Germany.  After Justin Corey Huerta graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 2011, he went to study at the University of Texas in El Paso, Texas, Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.  He was graduating in the Summer of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.  He was planning to kickstart his career in game development in the biggest technology companies in Austin, Texas.

Justin was a giving, caring and selfless soul. He was smart and compassionate and never hesitated to let family and friends know that he loved them.  He loved every genre of video games, music, traveling the world, and was a hard worker in the hospitality industry. He was resilient in the face of adversity; he represented the good that we all need every day in our lives.   He was one of the few who could actually rise to meet challenges with a smile. We are proud to have been able to call Justin our son, brother, cousin and friend. His spirit is one of one.

Justin is survived by his mother, Maria G. Guzman-Rosas, his step-father Mario A. Rosas and his eldest brother Jeffrey S. Strickland; his father Martin Huerta, step-mother Suchada Huerta and younger brother Adolfo Huerta and younger sister Pyhlyn Huerta.  His grandparents, Juana and Ricardo Guzman; Jose Huerta and Elida Huerta, as well as extended family, friends, and coworkers he touched during his short life, who loved him dearly and helped him become the person he was.

Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Guardian Funeral Home at 5922 Crosstown, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78417, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Cathedral Catholic Church, at 505 N. Upper Broadway, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78401.  Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
